Missing our Daddy Mumut :(

Usually it was baby and me who went off for weeks and it doesn't really bother Miss M that much coz going back to KK there's plenty of stuff to do AND top of it all she is constantly preoccupied with her cousins being the same age as she and so the adventure never ends.

On the other hand, when we are back in Dubai, it seems like her days seemed longer and always wanting to go out  and play. But it is not so easy coz the heat here is still too warm for a baby and 20 minutes outside in the park is enough to get her nappy rash already. Usually the highlight of her day would be the daddy coming home from work in the evening and they would play together, read together and sometime hubby took her down to the shops and they just enjoy the evening walk about.

Anyhow...Hubby is away for a good 2 weeks+  this month and poor little Miss M is finding it difficult that Daddy is not around  to do all that fun stuffs with her in a while and even when mommy is there to take daddy's place she is still missing a smile when evening comes.

The first few days was horrible, especially during the night when it's time to go to bed. Usually daddy will get her to take her bath and mummy will dress her for bed and everything is fine BUT not when daddy is not around. She tossed and turned for a long while then crying and keep looking at the door waiting for the daddy to say  bonjour mon coeur...and when it didnt happened she cried...and oh boy did she cried buckets!

Then I remembered my mom telling me before that each time that baby and I are going away for a long time away from hubby get one of his shirt and just place it next to her when she is about to go to bed and see if it works. And I was thinking maybe daddy's pillow will work too and yup! It works like magic. She's been sleeping on her daddy's pillow for the past week now and no more cries.

The crying are gone now  but she is still missing her daddy. Everyday, hubby skypes with us morning and evening somehow it helps to calm her down BUT each time daddy says a demain mon coeur ( see you tomorrow morning my heart) she starts to cry. And it's like that ever since hubby went outstation.

It hurts to see her crying each time the daddy say goodbye on skype but at least she gets a glimpse of her daddy just for a bit and it's funny how she kept going to the back of the laptop monitor just to see if Daddy is at the back of it.  Poor Miss M thinking daddy is playing peek-a-boo with her from the other side.

But "Daddy Mumut" on the otherside of the world too is missing his two hearts back in Dubai  and can't wait to get back to Dubai to be reunited again with his deux petite coeur :)

I took the opportunity to take some pics today by the window where there is plenty of lights and also Miss M's favourite place to be and just snap and snap and snap Hubby loves it when we send him photos of us goofing around or just photo of the day  and so this post is especially dedicated to our "Daddy Mumut" It's just something created out of spur and so voila!

Today, Miss M was a little bit moody and mummy tried to cheer her up by letting her play with the small camera and finally  she took a lot of pics by herself and so far this one is my favourite! :)

Have a grand weekend everyone and to our beloved "Daddy Mumut"
Tu me manque et Je t'aime!
Des gros Bisous,

Sketchy sketches :)

I was browsing one day when I came across with this blog, Sally's Portraits. I was so hooked looking at all her beautiful portraits that I was wishing that I could sketch just like that too but unfortunately, I really do not have any of that sort of talent in my bone. I can't draw, and more so paint? bluek...

so I got an idea of my own since I can't draw, paint, nor sketch so I seek the help of a computer software to help me realise my dream hahahahaah...I know it's cheating but heck it works :))

Here are some of my transformed photos :)

Tempête de sable!

Was just about to step out of the house for some park time with Miss M when I noticed something strange outside..at first I thought it was raining (far fetch, I know)  then a closer look, well it's the famous sand storm (tempête de sable) and yet again... :(
Miss M is elergic to small particles in the air and Dr. said when there is a sand storm it's best to stay indoors for she will be getting some reaction over her body and nostrils  so it's definately a No No No for this girl  so sad :(

 see what i mean....

as a result, we have one unhappy baby in the house :((

Total Makeover- Play/Read Corner Edition :)

Well finally I get to blog about Miss M's  new Play/Read area and it all cost around Dhs 160. The expensive part is the furniture which is the small tiny children's utility cabinet from Ikea and the rest of the stuffs  I managed to get it from Carrefour  which was on Sales that day.  Overall it was just a simple settings coz I did not want to put too much stuffs there coz she is but a baby still and have to find things that are baby safe so in this case less is better.

So here is the part of the living room which we decided is going to be Miss M little corner coz it's the brightest place of all and she loves watching out of the window too. So it's just perfect for her to read her books and play her toys at the same time :)

Before this, here is how she organises her toys and books before the makeover. She and I spend a lot of time by the window reading books and taking pictures coz the bright sun creates a natural lighting for taking pictures and so I took advantage of this. And so something had to be done and a makeover of this area it is then and with the help of hubby of course :) Actually I collected a lot of information and ideas from people reading my blog and a lot of these ideas I mix and match and voila! I cant' thank all of you enough for the help, Merci indeed from us :)

So here it is! Miss M's humble little Play/Read space!
In the begining, we thought of taking up the idea of just putting up a play rug but Miss M is a clumsy clod and the thought of her slipping on the play rug rings a caution alert on my brain so I changed it to a safe baby play mat instead.
The cabinet on the left side is just perfect coz Miss M do not have many toys at the moment which is good. Those are just some of her toys that she palys and carry here and there all the time particularly that wooden Noah's Ark  (the top left) She loves that thing so much that she carries it wherever she is and that toy is really heavy for her but she carried it anyways. Thanks aunty Gail & family for a very meaningful gift to Miss M and am sure it's going to stay with miss M for a long long time indeed. The rest of her toys are kept in a small box hidden somewhere in the house as later we will exchange with the one she already have and this way we keep her mind going

Now lets go to the right side of the play/read area. I got this inflatable couch from Carrefour and they are really cheap just Dhs 36 and Miss M just loves it! I saw her a couple of times going up the inflatable couch with all her plush toys and just chill thats why I know she really likes that baby couch of hers :)

Clockwise: she reads her book from her little library, chilling with her darling stuffed toys on her inflatable couch, playing on the play mat, laying by the window with her favourite "Miss Sunshine Pillow" while eating her carrot biscuits :) ,Playing with her formation toys atop the small utility/book cabinet, playing on the animal jigsaw mat , singing while sitting on her scooter, looking out the window and playing with her bowl and finally resting by her Miss Sunshine pillow while singing.

This collage says it all how much she loves spending time at her new little la la land :)

And here is another little space that Miss M claimed as hers with soft cushions and a tiny mattress just for her to relax watch TV and drink her milk. This area is full of cushions that we bought from Ikea during when she first started to walk and those cushions help lessen the bumps and bruises when she falls. So thisis another place that needs renovation but perhaps in a later stage :)

Before I end this post, a special thanks to my hubby for creating this special space for our little Miss M in such a short time and managed to finished it just before he left for his outstation work in Africa.
Des gros bisous mon coeur :)

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this, and we'll see you soon on my next post!

au revoir!

Developmental milestone: Talking

Baby talk is a big thing for a baby.We might not know what is going on in their little brain and how far it is stretching to accomodate all the new things that they are learning everyday, but somehow, when a baby talks it does means they are starting to understand what others (adults) are saying to them.

My daughter have the priveledge of growing up knowing that she have 2 other sidekicks that are equal to her and that is her cousins back in KK whom are the same age with her just about one month apart from each other. When we went back for summer break 2 months back I can see a lot of speech developments with the other two cousins but Miss M is still babbling and nothing coming out of her mouth except that she's humming   songs and  thats about it.

I was a bit worried until I read this bit of info from BabyCentre.com :-
13 to 18 months
Now your child is using one or more words, and he/she knows what they mean. He'll even practice inflection, raising his tone when asking a question, saying "Up-py?" when he wants to be carried, for example. He's realizing the importance of language as he taps into the power of communicating his needs.

19 to 24 months
Though he/she probably says about 50 to 70 words now, your child may understand as many as 200 words, many of which are nouns. Between 18 and 20 months, he'll learn words at the rate of 10 or more a day (so watch your language!). He'll even string two words together, making basic sentences such as "Carry me."

Phew! lega sikit terbaca this article. Anyhow, it's not that she doesnt talk she does but actually she babbles a lot just not forming any words just yet.

  •  When making funny faces is her job at the moment:)
and spending time playing with her doggy stuffed toy (Doudou Peluche Chiens) is one of her favourite things to do and she babbles with the Peluche as well :)

AND.....FINALLY.....

her first word is "momom" which means simply I'm hungry in malay (J'ai faim)!
I was so so so so happy to hear this word it sounded like bells over at my ears,
This means it's the begining of her muttering some words and soon I hope she will learn to say more words!
Je t'aime mon petite coeur!!

It's been a few weeks since this post was intended to be posted  and I am happy to report that she has now able to say "Oui" and "non"as in yes and no in french and one malay word which is "momom". This is definately going to be added to my small notes on her speech development progress and certainly it is going good now :)

Petite Zen Garden :)

Last April when we went back to France for our spring break, I bought this thing called Nature Sun Aroms  its an aroma diffuser. I bought it and didnt even use it. So today got some aroma therapy oils and the current one that I'm loving is the Lemongrass Therapy Oils and put a few drops inside this tiny deffuser and add a little water and off it goes. I must say it's quite a relaxing thing keeps your senses alert and makes your mind relax and think of happy thoughts all day. I'm loving this Aroma therapy thingy :)

The other good thing about this tiny wonder is also that it works just by plugging it on a USB socket and voila! et il fonctionne parfaitement! (and it works perfectly)

Happy thoughts all week everyone! :))
