Total Makeover- Play/Read Corner Edition :)

Well finally I get to blog about Miss M's  new Play/Read area and it all cost around Dhs 160. The expensive part is the furniture which is the small tiny children's utility cabinet from Ikea and the rest of the stuffs  I managed to get it from Carrefour  which was on Sales that day.  Overall it was just a simple settings coz I did not want to put too much stuffs there coz she is but a baby still and have to find things that are baby safe so in this case less is better.

So here is the part of the living room which we decided is going to be Miss M little corner coz it's the brightest place of all and she loves watching out of the window too. So it's just perfect for her to read her books and play her toys at the same time :)

Before this, here is how she organises her toys and books before the makeover. She and I spend a lot of time by the window reading books and taking pictures coz the bright sun creates a natural lighting for taking pictures and so I took advantage of this. And so something had to be done and a makeover of this area it is then and with the help of hubby of course :) Actually I collected a lot of information and ideas from people reading my blog and a lot of these ideas I mix and match and voila! I cant' thank all of you enough for the help, Merci indeed from us :)

So here it is! Miss M's humble little Play/Read space!
In the begining, we thought of taking up the idea of just putting up a play rug but Miss M is a clumsy clod and the thought of her slipping on the play rug rings a caution alert on my brain so I changed it to a safe baby play mat instead.
The cabinet on the left side is just perfect coz Miss M do not have many toys at the moment which is good. Those are just some of her toys that she palys and carry here and there all the time particularly that wooden Noah's Ark  (the top left) She loves that thing so much that she carries it wherever she is and that toy is really heavy for her but she carried it anyways. Thanks aunty Gail & family for a very meaningful gift to Miss M and am sure it's going to stay with miss M for a long long time indeed. The rest of her toys are kept in a small box hidden somewhere in the house as later we will exchange with the one she already have and this way we keep her mind going

Now lets go to the right side of the play/read area. I got this inflatable couch from Carrefour and they are really cheap just Dhs 36 and Miss M just loves it! I saw her a couple of times going up the inflatable couch with all her plush toys and just chill thats why I know she really likes that baby couch of hers :)

Clockwise: she reads her book from her little library, chilling with her darling stuffed toys on her inflatable couch, playing on the play mat, laying by the window with her favourite "Miss Sunshine Pillow" while eating her carrot biscuits :) ,Playing with her formation toys atop the small utility/book cabinet, playing on the animal jigsaw mat , singing while sitting on her scooter, looking out the window and playing with her bowl and finally resting by her Miss Sunshine pillow while singing.

This collage says it all how much she loves spending time at her new little la la land :)

And here is another little space that Miss M claimed as hers with soft cushions and a tiny mattress just for her to relax watch TV and drink her milk. This area is full of cushions that we bought from Ikea during when she first started to walk and those cushions help lessen the bumps and bruises when she falls. So thisis another place that needs renovation but perhaps in a later stage :)

Before I end this post, a special thanks to my hubby for creating this special space for our little Miss M in such a short time and managed to finished it just before he left for his outstation work in Africa.
Des gros bisous mon coeur :)

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this, and we'll see you soon on my next post!

au revoir!
